June – August 2026 · Pureora Forest
The trail to yourself. The forest at its finest.
Why winter?
Winter on the Timber Trail is something the crowds never see. Crisp mornings, mist drifting through ancient podocarp forest, the trail quiet underfoot — just you, the birds, and one of New Zealand's most spectacular wilderness rides stretching through the heart of Pureora.
Come back each evening to a warm lodge, a proper meal, and the kind of stillness that only comes when you've genuinely earned it.
